Naive Zebra is Back

Naive Z is back open for business for any one that’s out there reading this , so please adjust your links , I know it’s a pain but hopefully it will be all good now.

Thanks to the lovely Fee , she’s had to resolve this whole sorry affair , I have binned Farce Hosts , absolutely useless in the resolution from start to finish.

I would not recommend them to anyone I know.

I just have to try and get everything up and running and get all my links n stuff back into play.

For some reason or other it’s not showing my themes up and even though it’s the latest version of WordPress on the server , it keeps saying I need to update , so something is not there just yet.

But at least it’s back.

I have emailed some of you re the reopening of Naive Zebra , so who will be the first here , I wonder ?

Bloggar has been configured , so even that works grand.

Bit of pain downstairs today of all days.

Got to to go back into MetHell today , it’s not the place I miss one iota , it’s some of the people there.

Things on the agenda for me , find a bloody NHS Dentist , I almost fell over when I went to the nearest on to to me to be told that to have 2 Crowns and a filling , wait for it £1130 , that’s almost three months mortgage.

Sadly there is a failing in the NHS over her , the amount of NHS dentists is on the decline if you can find one at all , but that’s a hell of a price to pay for going to the dentist having lost and swallowed your fillings.

Overdue Update

Hello bods,

Well where do I start ,?

Been busy in the garden with my little chum , Andy and I think quite possibly I have utilised every possible piece of space for the upcoming months planting and the growing season this year.

No photos yet mainly because it was too dark to take any decent shots.

The front garden now has 4 raised beds adding 3 to the original 1, just to keep it balanced and using up the majority of the remaining recycled wood shed that I obtained on the first couple of weeks here.

It feels good to give something back by not wasting anything that can possibly be used in growing healthy fruit and veg.

Did I mention fruit , yes the beds are all planted with fruit bushed that I managed to get for £1 each , blackcurrants , redcurrants and 2 gooseberry bushes are installed , and as I type this I have just been delivered 6 or more raspberry canes [ apparently that's the proper word ] by Smiley Chums Paul and Fee.

Fee has also offered to help me resolve my ongoing blog problems and host it on her server for me , so touchwood , when I get my domain name back from Fasthosts [ who managed to loose everything I have ever blogged about since first discovering NZ all those years ago , including all my follow up adventures Dm Course etc. etc. ] I will then hopefully be able to to have Naive Zebra back online , watch this space.

Have a massive favour to ask you as you are possibly the only man with the capability and love to possibly do it. N and I are getting married on April 26th and is customary to give people at the meal a favour and we wanted to give people a small 3″ pot with a herb partially to fully grown in it.

We are having (here we go..) 80 family n a few friends to the meal and we love Sweet Basil, and Coriander but don’t know whether these are suitable for the time of year..

Gulp all hands to the pump.

I had to call in the assistance of Matron re this , 80 seedling great idea , the wedding favour that just keeps on giving.

Nice touch.

3 months to get them all germinated and potted out , going to be hard on the type of herbs that they want , but I am working out all sorts of alternatives , Paul & Fee have just offered me the chance to go around to theirs and Fee is going to help me take cuttings of Rosemary plants , so there is start , Matron has offered to help me out with any surplus tomato seedlings , I have tried to start off some sweet basil indoors , and started 2 types of early tomatoes.

Let’s see. What will be will be .

Some of last years late starting chilies are still going strong so they could be in the offing as well.

If I can get the seedling off and running , Matron reckons I may be lucky enough to get the rosemary to strike as well , Fee reckons I could also try some cutting off her lavender , it’s a veritable Quality St of flavours and scents.

But I love the idea of giving something that will grow rather than sweets and almonds.

Fee & Paul also loved it , so no doubt that’s why they are keen to help this ambitious project / request.

Kato Junya San , thanks for your comments at least know this is being read by someone , my little niche of nearest n dearest chums in the globe.

Naive Zebra is still in the doldrums and it’s starting to really hack me off , considering they are billing me for hosting , I have a lovely chum called Fee who said she would host he whole lot for me for nix if I can just get all the data off their servers I will back the lot up and start from scratch.

Been a bit of a weird weekend , Parentals still not in communication , but my Mum is know doubt being her obstinate self , she cannot see this blog , as far as I know.

Still in pain n swelling , but I had to the opportunity to go out with some lovely kiting fraternity chums just to get out for a beverage or two n snacks.

Great smiles , lovely evening it felt good to be out amongst chums again , but it all ended too soon.

I was a tad naive to think cycling there n back and now I am paying the price , serious pain, serious serious pain.

As I listen to rain I wish I was on the deck of the Tree house or chewing the bit with my chum Kato San on the deck as we did so many times , but that’s a dream.

A Quick Day : In The Old Style.

Firstly hello to my old new viewers , HKH and TSL.

Very remiss of me not to have directed you here earlier , I will throw myself on my sword now [ Does that suffice for penance ? ]

Beep Beep Beep: Goes the sound of the alarm.

Up and out , and it’s not just raining it’s that good old European , No British , No Dover weather , it’s hurling it down and I have to get up earlier than I have been of late to go to the DR’s so I can get a certificate off work , so hopefully the swelling will reduce even more.

I did try and shop yesterday , as provisions were running low , and a chum came around and dragged me out , damn it hurt trying to get around the shop to get provisions.

That’s wet , but I am high viz wet , so at least the cars can see me , that was a hard walk and it’s only just down the road.

The Dr thought I had either a bowel problem or a back problem , I was doing my best John Wayne impression and then he remembered , Oh yes , now that explains the walk.

That rain is really coming down , something very therapeutic about rain on a roof , reminds me of being in a tent when it used to rain , I loved that sound.

Daytime TV sucks.

Started on Resident Evil - Extinction movie last night seems okay so far , I have not seen any of the others , but at least it’s keeping me entertained , unlike some of the other disasters I have recently experienced.

Jeremy Kyle , Jerry Springer , Maury - it’s like I have become part of a peepers tribe of voyeurs.

It’s like TV thrives on a world of freaks , it’s seems like they provide what we want .

I have found for some time that the very people , who appear on the show as ‘ Problem Types ‘ , benefit breeders etc. are the very people that are likely to be watching the shows .

And yet in the adverts check this out I will demonstrate later when I really concentrate on the Ads.,

Interupt on phone calls , that are not for them and then get all arsey when you bring it to their attention , I know my Mum is not to clever , but everything everytime you even try to criticise her for anything , suddenly it’s another case for Kofi Anan to sort out , well I know I will not get any phone calls and visits for the next couple of days.

I have heaps of types of toms to plant out this year , that was the reason I phone my Mum to enquire as to whether she wanted some of my seedling and plants as and when they come through.

Still very very sore n swollen.

My sleep pattern is all over the place and I am not able to have a problem free night yet so I nap as and when I can.

So off to DR’s tomorrow Am for a visit and some advice.

No playtime for me.

Much as though I appreciate not having to go into my workplace and I love my home, the days are long and tedious.

I am bored and because I am in too much pain to go anywhere too far from home , am finding ways to use up all my stuff in n my fridge and freezer, supplies are running low and I will have to venture out soon into town somehow to replenish the essentials for the store cupboard.

I am longing for the day that I can get about even on the bus.

I have found myself watching some really bad movies.

Whilst slightly entertaining Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End is far to too long 2.33 , it could have been cut down heaps.

Hostel , I find myself asking why it was made at all , the world could have lived without this brutal flick.

Garden

The garden whilst not doing anything in the growing department , is often busy with my chums the birds.

The Starlings are loving my home made fat seed lumps , I recycle all the rendered fat that comes of my lean grilling machine and combine the results with a mix of wild seed and mealwoorms and they wolf it down.

I managed to spill a huge amount of my home made granola so now that is being utilised as bird food as well and they are loving that.

The woodpecker that appeared the other day to enjoy his peanuts in my garden , has yet to resurface , Murray I was unable to catch a shot before he flew off sorry.

The robins and the great titts are pure comedy to watch doing their aerobatics , when they target the feeding stations , like little dive bombers.

Last years clutch of baby wood pigeons are growing well and I can now count three that regularly appear for their feed.

I have lost some my chilli plants from last year [ I think ] but I am hoping to keep them hardy in the conservatory and maybe they will resurface , some of them ,the larger ones are npw residing in the kitchen window, keeping the aloe plant company just to stave off the chill that’s around.

Still looking for a regular supplier of manure that I can get into the garden.

No joy as yet.

The composter , one of my Christmas presents to myself is now fully installed , where the old hedgehog house was situated [ No visitors so it will now become another raised bed ] , and filling up as I clean up both front and rear of the property.

Projects

Purchased a Dremel Style Tool off Ebay , so maybe some new ideas for the garden , lets see , I am longing to do something differant to pass the time and I have some ideas for some ceramic/terracotta patio and garden lights that should make interesting work and viewing when finished.

I would like to start making recycled sculpture that could be used in the gardens , like wooden chimes and mobiles and the like.
